We have a new exciting opportunity, not to be missed! At DEBRA we are currently looking for a Relief Shop Manager to join our team based in the Midlands. You will join us on a permanent basis, you will require to cover shops when the area is short staffed and in return will receive a competitive salary of £8.21.

DEBRA is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) - a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal. Around 500,000 people live with the condition worldwide, more than Cystic Fibrosis, but EB is much less well known.

Key Responsibilities of our Relief Shop Manager will include:

- Represent DEBRA as an efficient and charitable organisation by ensuring your actions reinforce DEBRA's mission, vision and values

- Ensure stock is generated over door by members of the public and ask all donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme;

- Ensure efficient and effective operational management and promotion of the shop, including handling all administration

- Ensure the shop complies with all Health and Safety legislation, Trading Standards, and all other legal or statutory requirements

- Recruit, select, fully train and co-ordinate the activities of the volunteers ensuring all relevant documentation is completed as required

- Be accountable for achieving sales targets as specified by the Area Manager

- Be fully flexible in your role to ensure DEBRA shops remain open during published trading hours

What we're looking for in our Relief Shop Manager:

- Experience working within fashion retail with particular regard to floor layouts, merchandising, customer service & contact, working in a team environment, basic IT, administration and simple analysis of figures

- Minimum of 1 years management experience/team leadership of other staff

- Experience of working with targets and budgets

- Able to attract, recruit, train, develop and appraise a team of both paid and voluntary staff to fully participate in the daily activities of the store

- Be persuasive and influence, through negotiation, staff and volunteers on how to develop good retail practices

- Able to interpret, implement and advise on procedural guidance from line management and issue appropriate instruction and advice to staff and volunteers to manage the store

- Able to create an effective working relationship between yourself and Assistant Manager and or Sales Assistant

- Able to identify and develop appropriate plans to respond to weekly, monthly and annual budgetary targets in conjunction with the Area Manager
- A flexible approach to working hours and days including Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays as appropriate and when required
- Able to travel to other shops in the Area as required
- Have access a telephone to provide call out contact
- Ability to lift on a frequent basis items of various sizes and weights
