Assistant Management Accountant


£12.00-£13.00 per hour

Temporary - 12 weeks

Mon-Fri, 8:30-5pm

This position is responsible for accurately tracking, analysing delivery and freight metrics and reporting on financial performance to ensure optimal decision-making across the EU Finance and Global Supply Chain functions. The role will be based in the Rushden Distribution & Fulfillment campus and part of a small finance team, ensuring continuity of the Supply Chain Finance function during a transitionary period.

Key responsibilities for the Assistant Management Accountant will include:
  • Supporting the month end process (accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, p-card allocations)
  • Posting journals against delivery expense and freight costs (for all 3 brands)
  • Post month end reporting (additional schedules required)
  • Customer Service Month End Report - Non-Merch and Replacements (UO & AN brand)
  • Data pulls: Metapack, Returns, PPS, Delivery Expense, Gift Cards, Furniture, STS carton volume, Storenet
  • Producing accruals for: Delivery Expense, Freight and WSL (for all 3 brands)
  • Freight additional data pull: Haz Mat, New Stores, Bank Holidays, Additional Shipments check
  • Data input and commentary for 2 US Schedules (including data input into 6 initial spreadsheets)
  • Providing summaries and additional information for Brands Post-Mortems
  • Cancellation Report - weekly + monthly summary (UO & AN brand)
  • Returns Report - weekly + monthly summary (UO & AN brand)
  • Help in improving the current reports to reflect the actual volumes, as well as trying to create new ones
  • Providing an insight into DC processes, as well as Freight & Delivery Expense possible savings
  • Sharing information with internal stakeholders to align streamlined communication between DC and Brands
  • Supporting with Risk and Ops files
  • Systems Used: Micro Strategy, Hyperion, Oracle, IP
  • Building and supporting Forecast and Budget files
  • Working closely with WSL Team to influence changes for DC - data capture included (obtaining access to Blue Cherry)

In order to be successful in this role you must:
  • A part-qualified individual, (with AAT aiming to start CIMA or ACCA), ideally with experience in a similar role within Finance in an Operational or Supply Chain environment
  • High degree of initiative and ownership, a motivated self-starter who is continually curious and thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment where change is the norm
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with an ability to interpret data in various formats, and an excellent standard of verbal and written communication
  • Able to meet deadlines, working with pace and urgency. Can successfully balance multiple priorities, with a disciplined, logical and practical approach to problem solving
  • Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) and knowledge of Oracle system would be an advantage
