The Job: Mechanical Project Manager (Building Services)

The Company

First People Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Mechanical and Electrical contractor in Manchester.

Our client are a reputable company with a range of projects including residential, commercial, industrial, education and leisure providing a Mechanical and Electrical engineering services.

With several offices across the UK they require an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their team based in Manchester

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be required to be come from a Heating, Plumbing and Ventilation background and have previously held the role of Project Manager or Project Engineer.

This position is best suited to a Mechanical Project Manager looking to for a fresh challenge with a large M&E Contractor based in Manchster or a Mechanical Project Engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Work closely with estimating, design colleagues and Operation Manager leads to ensure a successful project completion
Working within a team with the candidate must take ownership of a project from the initial receipt and manage the client expectations to the project delivery
Working closely with the client counterpart and their agents at all stages of the project to ensure that communication with the client is established and maintained directly throughout the life of each project
Planning and resourcing project materials within suitable timescales to ensure an efficient flow of materials to all projects and to meet project deadlines
Managing and supervising site labour resources to ensure installation dates are met and that sufficient resource is available to meet project requirements, including having optimum labour on site at all times
Effectively managing sub-contractor performance and ensuring the use of agency labour is controlled and monitored
Commercial awareness of the project spend and forecasting accurate cost to completion of works
H&S compliance and management on site
Assist in compiling O&M Manuals including test & commissioning certificates, manufacturers literature and as installed drawings
Clean current driving licence essential
Able to use laptop /PC /iPad or tablet and able to work with Excel spreadsheets and Word documents
Role would be within a team based out of office and may involve travelling to client locations throughout the UK
Experience of successfully managing multi-discipline projects
mechanical background with relevant technical Board of Trade Certificate of Competency
Completion of 5 day Site Managers Safety course
