The Role
This position, based at the Hereford head office, is for a full-time Compliance Officer reporting to the Associate Director, Compliance.

The Compliance Officer will be based in the Compliance and Legal department and will manage their own portifolio of responsibilities in addition to supporting the wider business with a focus on the company Management Systems.

The management systems support the following:
  • 100 corporate personnel at locations in the UK, Dubai, Sri Lanka, India, South , Japan, Nigeria
  • 1000 operational personal (crew & security) working in multiple high risk regions

  • Ambrey Risk, Ambrey International, Ambrey Offshore, Ambrey Services DMCC, Ambrey Nigeria, Ambrey Mozambique

Internal Departments:
  • Commercial
  • Operations (including Logistics, Manpower)
  • Offshore (Vessel Management)

  • Business Management (including Office Services, IT, HR)

Role responsibilities

To assist with the maintainence and development of the group Management System for all business entities in line with ISO scope and certification:
  • ISO 28000:2007 & ISO 28007-1:2015 (Security Management / Maritime Security)
  • ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management)
  • ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management)
  • OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Management

To assist in the management of:
  • Audits
  • Flag States
  • Licencing
  • Commercial & stakeholder due diligence and tenders (IOR, WAF, Project areas)
  • Policy and Procedures; including research, review, drafting, revision

Support the Management Systems requirements inclusive of:
  • Regulation & legislation registers
  • Stakeholder & supplier due diligence & record management
  • BCP, media & communictions
  • Data, privacy, Information Security
  • Ethics, Anti Bribery, Anti Slavery
  • HSSE and Risk management
  • Corrective Action and improvement
  • Incident management and review
  • Management of Change
  • Internal audits and systems tests

Support to wider business tasks and teams as required & directed including:
  • Operations, Commercial, HSSE, special projects and vessels
  • Support company licensing framework
  • General research and review tasks
  • Meeting preparation & support

Support Legal team projects & tasks including;
  • insurance review
  • establishing frameworks in new markets
  • research and review
  • meeting preparation
  • Undertake any other task the Senior Management Team deems reasonable

Required qualifications & experience:
  • Education to degree standard
  • Experience of an office based role

The following experience would be desirable for the role:
  • Management experience or experience operating at a management leve
  • Experience of working with a diverse range of stakeholders and staff in a commercial business
  • Research based role experience
  • ISO based Management Systems experience
  • HSSE management experience and/or qualification
  • Awareness of Industry specific compliance frameworks (for example: BMP5, ICOC, IMO, SOLAS incl ISPS CODE, UN - Voluntary Principles Security & Human Rights, UN USE OF FORCE, UNCLOS, BIMCO, Export & Firearms Acts, Flag State Administrations).

Terms and conditions
  • Salary IRO £25-£30K pa dependent on experience
  • A probation period of 6 month
  • Full time position. 45 hours per week (inclusive of lunch), Monday to Friday with out of hours response tasks following completion of probation period
  • Annual Leave: 25 days pa plus public holidays

Salary: £25,000.00 to £30,000.00 /year
