We are recruiting for a Paediatric Staff Nurse who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and have the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff. The successful post holder will be expected to be able to work in a small multidisciplinary team within the Emergency Department, having close links to the Paediatric Unit, Resuscitation Service, Safeguarding Teams and Medical Staffing. As a Paediatric Staff Nurse you will ensure that you work towards providing our Children and Young Persons with a safe, effective and efficient service. You will be under the direct supervision of a band 7 Senior Sister and team of experienced Clinical Sister's. You will require skills in safe assessment of children, using an ABCDE approach, be able to administer treatments and medications as prescribed. We are a small multidisciplinary team consisting of nursing and medical staff, who strive to become excellent health providers. We are able to offer places on the burns study day, advanced life support, STRS retrieval study day, Medway safeguarding children's board days and there are In-house training opportunities. We also offer places on higher education courses and have close links with two of the local Universities. In addition, you will be expected to assist senior staff in audits, help with CSW teaching sessions and mentor students. You would need to keep up to date with research and new guidance and would be actively encouraged to bring new ideas to the department.
