Reed Finance have been engaged to recruit a qualified Finance Manager for a reputable company in South Cambridgeshire.

The company is one of the UK's largest manufacturing companies in their field, and have been going strong for over a century.

The Finance Manager post has become available due to succession planning; you will be part of the senior management team, responsible for both trading companies of the group ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the MD.

As the most senior in finance, managing established and loyal finance staff, your role will consist of -
  • Complete accountability of the function, to facilitate the production of periodical reports for Board Directors and Senior Management in a timely fashion.
  • Provide annual financial accounts for presentation to external parties.
  • Direct the annual budget exercise, liaising with the Managing Director to ensure schedules prepared support the forecast, and reporting on performance against budget
  • Provide department costs for reporting on profitability
  • Managing monthly payroll and overseeing weekly wages and all calculations
  • Control cash on a periodic basis preparing regular forecasts
  • Oversee the group's VAT returns ensuring adherence to HMRC regulations.

You will also have the responsibility of providing and monitoring internal controls on the financial activities, keep the Director appraised of operational issues as they arise and as a member of the senior management team, attend and contribute towards meetings.

Hold a professional accountancy qualification with commercial and management experience, ideally in a manufacturing or related industry although an outstanding applicant there is flexibility on this.

You will be comfortable and able to meet tight deadlines, possess the ability to develop strong relationships with those outside of finance creating confidence and have a flair for IT, specifically MS Office.
