The Global Head of Digital IT is responsible for building and developing a Digital function that sits within the Meggitt Information Systems (MIS) team. This function is responsible for delivering new digital solutions as well as enhancements to existing digital solutions across the Meggitt Group in support of the regularly changing requirements of the company, function and the DivisionsCore Responsibilities
Creating and developing a Digital function to support the Meggitt business needs;Measuring the performance of the Digital function to ensure the continual improvement of Digital project delivery and all supporting processes;Reviewing IT costs against external service providers, new developments and new services, initiating proposals to change the way the Digital function delivers these services to achieve best value for the business, in consultation with financial management for IT services;Working collaboratively with other MIS teams to ensure the successful delivery of Digital projects & programmesProviding advice and guidance to other MIS teams on all aspects of digital projects;Identifying new external suppliers/partners to enhance the capacity & capability of the Digital function and managing the relationship with these suppliers to ensure they deliver the needed support;Participating in Change Approval Boards, ensuring the Digital function is represented at all meetings;Recommending proactive, innovative solutions for the improvement of our Digital Portfolio and working with the Enterprise Architecture function, IT Security and the Technology Approval Board to approve these new solutions;Leading the creation of an annual strategy and plan to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the functionPreparing & submitting an annual budget for the function that reflects the agreed annual strategy and plan and ensures it is adequately resourced (internal & external);Tracking and controlling actual spend and preparing & submitting quarterly revised forecasts to ensure meets the budget and plan;Monitoring and managing performance of the Digital team;Continuously developing the Digital function and team members to ensure staff are appropriately skilled to do their jobs and are encouraged to progress their careers by taking on new or more senior roles within Meggitt/MIS;Anticipating demand for Small Change Requests (SCRs) and Improvement Projects (e.g. Regular upgrades to websites and webapps) and ensuring sufficient resources are on hand (internal or external) to meet demand;Staying up to date on Digital best practice through networking with peers in other companies/industries, reading industry publications and investing in training where needed;Acting as 2nd in Command for Group CIO internally and at external events from time to time;Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Experience of establishing and running a Digital function working across multiple geographies (US, UK, Europe & Asia) and ideally multiple sectors;Understands and manages the challenge of successfully adopting digital solutions in a Manufacturing/Regulated sectorStrong track record in identifying and developing successful relationships with key external service providers;Significant experience of successfully leading and inspiring a Global team and working with a variety of stakeholders spread across multiple geographies and cultures;Relishes the opportunity to mature and improve the services delivered by an existing team with experience of applying appropriate best practices from other companies/sectors;Ability to analyse complex situations and effectively hone in on what matters to solve problems effectively;Ability to take a longer term strategic view and to effectively plan a path to achieve this long term plan;Demonstrable ability to thrive in a complex, rapidly changing and demanding Globally integrated (but not centralised) business environment;Strong customer focus with experience of effectively managing customer relationship and handling conflict resolution across divisions / countries;Proven practical ability to budget for and effectively manage resources including how to deployment of resources efficiently;Outstanding communication skills with demonstrable ability to present information concisely, to communicate in a manner applicable to all levels, to influence others and to negotiate, persuade and sell ideas. #LI-SJ1Meggitt are an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to developing an inclusive and diverse working environment.
