Are you a proactive part-qualified accountant looking for a change? If so, Athwal Resourcing is in need of an operationally focused part qualified Accountant for a growing manufacturing business which is part of a Group based in Dudley. The role reports to the Group Finance Controller and includes carrying out the day to day duties within the finance function for its main subsidiary, ensuring all accounting and management reporting is completed on time whilst providing high service levels to both internal and external stakeholders.

As the business expands the role too will go from a hands-on management accountant to incorporate forward-looking adding value projects. The company offers study support for CIMA/ACCA and a career enhancing role as the business moves in its next phase of growth.

As Management Accountant you will:
  • Prepare the month end accounting and management reporting on a month basis and financial reporting on a quarterly basis to the Board;
  • Supervise an Accounts Assistant to ensure all the company's purchase invoices are processed, preparing supplier payment runs and reconciling supplier statements;
  • Daily postings of cash receipts and payments, setting up payments, completing monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring working capital and cash flow is monitored;
  • Post actual accruals and prepayments and journal entries;
  • Produce the quarterly forecasts and yearly budgets for the subsidiary;
  • Play an active role in the quarterly stock takes;
  • Assist in all financial regulatory information and returns to authorities including VAT returns, ensuring timely payment and accuracy;
  • Performing and/or undertaking any aspects of general office administration and support allocated by the Finance Team;

The successful candidate will:
  • Ideally be AAT level 4 or part qualified to attain CIMA or ACCA;
  • Have experience from a manufacturing environment and capable of delivering management accounts;
  • Previous experience of working in a busy small office environment;
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft especially Excel (VLookups. Pivots) and accounting packages;
  • Have the ability to work and communicate with all levels of people;
  • Have a proactive approach, work on own initiative and can manage your own workload;
  • Be an enthusiastic and highly organised individual who can manage multi-stakeholders relationships and a small team when required;
  • You will be hands-on but commercial in your outlook to progress your career in a forward-thinking business;
