How many people visit the National Trust properties each month? How many hectares of priority habitat have we restored? Are we using less energy than we did last year? This role is an opportunity to look across all areas of the business and understanding everything we do through gathering, analysing and providing insight into performance data as part of the Strategy Management Unit at the National Trust's Central Office in Swindon. We're looking for someone who can cut through data and bring the numbers to life in compelling ways, and who can think creatively about the questions we need to ask in order to aid decision making and prioritisation at the heart of the organisation.

What you'll be doing
Reporting directly to the Head of Organisation Performance you will be responsible providing monthly reports to senior managers, giving them a clear and accurate picture of our organisational performance. This will be underpinned by the first-rate analysis that reveals a deeper understanding of what's going well and not so well, helping to inform decision making. Your knowledge of the Trust's wide range of activity will be developed through the relationship you have with other central colleagues. You'll be communicating and presenting your findings to senior managers with a level of confidence to reiterate the strength and accuracy of your conclusions. Providing a consultancy service you will also make recommendations on key concerns and highlight new insights and recommendations.
Who we're looking for
  • Degree or equivalent in relevant analytical discipline
  • Knowledge of the role of strategy, planning and performance management in a large organisation
  • Excellent analytical skills including knowledge and experience of applying statistical techniques
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting complex large-scale multiple information sources
  • Experience of checking data for errors and investigating causes
