CQR are excited to be working with our client to recruit an exceptional candidate to be their 'Junior Production Engineer' in a permanent position. The Production Engineering team are expanding and this is an exciting opportunity for the right person to further their career. Specialising in the manufacture of wound components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for the civil aircraft, space, and defence industries this is a highly successful and growing organisation. The successful applicant will ideally hold a BTEC level 3 in Electronics and have Technician level experience within a manufacturing environment. You will have a strong interest in mechanical and electronics engineering and a high standard of Maths and English. About The Job...

The Junior Production Engineer (JPE) shall work with and assist Production Engineering to provide solutions to maximise production efficiency and improve and update existing production processes for new and existing products. The JPE will have a working knowledge of all parts within the Cell and use their relevant knowledge and experience. In addition, the JPE will be the primary interface between Production Engineering and Operations in the absence of the Team Leader. Day to day duties will include:

* Controlling the introduction of new parts and tools into the manufacturing environment.

* Analysing new designs to ensure DFM (Design for manufacture) and DFA (Design for assembly) criteria are met.

* Providing technical input at all points of the development process and departments.

* Training, Skills and Continuous Improvement Activities.

* Producing Engineering Drawings

* Health and Safety Support.

* Documentation.

* Order Vetting and Product realisation.

* Production Support & General Engineering duties.

* QA Support (incl. Continuous Improvement).

* Customer Liaison.

* Supplier Liaison.

* Assist with internal Audits.

The right person...

* Ideally you will have a BTEC Level 3 in Electronics and previous experience of working at Technician Level in a Manufacturing environment.

* A high standard of Maths and English and general IT skills

* A strong interest in mechanical / electronic engineering.

* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively.

* Demonstrated organisational, planning and program skills with careful attention to detail.

* Good Understanding of the Quality Management System.

* Be a good Team Player; Keen to learn new skills.

* Have a strong technical bias.

* Work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

* Hours Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.00am to 1pm
