Treasury Accountant (Hedging)

Would you like to play a key role in the Air Europe & International (E&I) part of the business, delivering commitments for Typhoon, Tornado and Hawk? We currently have a vacancy for a Treasury Accountant at our site in Warton.

As a Treasury Accountant, you will be providing financial support and advice to a number of Air business for all aspects of foreign exchange management and exploring new international markets.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to make a difference and provide challenges to the function and business, whilst being inquisitive and organised.

Your main responsibilities as a Treasury Accountant (Hedging) will involve:

Providing effective foreign exchange management across a number of businesses including hedging and foreign currency accounting

Overseeing submission of hedge requests to HQ and obtain appropriate authorisation for submission

Responsibility for coordinating the month end for hedging, ensuring all exchange variances are posted to projects and timing differences are reconciled.

Calculation and reconciliation of exchange variance resulting from payments and receipts

Liaising with projects on a regular basis to deliver their currency/hedging requirements

Verifying payments prior to authorisation

Supervising and supporting the Treasury Assistant in day to day tasks and assist in their development through training and PDR process

Supporting team leader in day to day management of treasury team activities

Providing training and guidance to the business on Foreign Exchange

Your skills and qualifications:

Extensive accounting experience is key for this role

Strong interpersonal skills are required to guide and influence stakeholders

Demonstrable ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines

Prior experience of working within a treasury team/project area would be an advantage

Training will be provided on the more technical aspects of this role, including hedging and currency management
