Role: Structural Team Leader
Location: Stocksbridge, South Yorkshire
Employment: Permanent
Salary: £35,958.63 inclusive of shift allowance, plus excellent benefits
Working Hours: 2 shift continental pattern, 3 weekends out of 4.
Our client have an exciting opportunity to join their well established Structural team on their site in Stocksbridge. We are looking to recruit a Structural Team Leader on a Permanent basis.
Key accountabilities:
* Manage the team within area of responsibility to ensure that departmental objectives and targets are achieved.
* Responsible for ensuring high standards of health & safety, motivating the team to continuously improve safety standards and practice and will identify and develop safety Initiatives within the team. Develop and initiate process improvements within the team.
* Plan, organize and control the work of Team Members and issue work permits.
* Ensure Team resources are effectively organised, deployed and monitored, requesting and organising external resources as appropriate, to achieve plant targets and objectives.
* Monitor Team Members' performance and develop, implement and review appropriate training plans to ensure individual optimum performance.
* Involved in the selection process for Team Members and can recommend individuals for promotion/further development.
* Responsible for the maintenance of discipline and attendance and can implement the company grievance/disciplinary procedure to agreed limit of authority.
* Ensure effective communications within the team and between other teams and responsible for the development and maintenance of team identity/motivation.
* Will be the first point of contact for individual team member's problems and queries and will ensure that appropriate issues are resolved to ensure the smooth operation of the team with minimum disruption.
In addition to the responsibilities associated with being an operating, "Hands-On" member of the team, the Team Leader will:-
Carry out Plant inspections to an agreed frequency, that will determine future maintenance requirements.
Develop and implement maintenance routines for all equipment.
Carry out planning duties (labour and materials requirements) for specific plant needs
Ensure availability of materials and spares for items of plant within all area's on site
Identify and organise "Critical Spares".
Co-ordinate with and, where required, supervise the activities of other services and contractors, including the issue and cancellation of permits, danger notices and all other relevant safe working procedures.
Ensure that all computerised management and supervisory systems are fully utilised and participate fully in all forms of communications.
Prepare day reports to the requirements of the department.
Identify and organise on-the-job training of the Team Members to the agreed requirements defined in the skills matrices.
Responsible for workload planning and supervision of the Structural Teams.
Capable of acting under your own initiative as well as a team
Good communication skills
FLT/OHC/Remote/pendant is preferable but not essential, training will be given
Be prepared to embrace/participate in all training courses provided
The ideal candidate will have:
* Preferably be educated and qualified to HNC level in a technical or engineering based discipline.
* Good understanding of the appropriate plant/area operations, related processes and appropriate customer/service requirements.
* Effective organisational and decision-making skills.
* Effective communicator, with the ability to manage and motivate a multi-disciplined team.
* Time served apprenticeship plater/welder/pipefitter
* Provide welding competency up to BS EN 1011 - 1,2,3, BS EN 287 - 1
* NDT knowledge ideally PCN level 2 accredited but not essential, training provided
* Provide any pipefitting competency/evidence from previous employment
* Full driving licence
* Be familiar with operating I.T. systems, excel/word/Infor, training will be given
