Hello there! We're on a mission to make it easy for men to dress well. To help us do this we are looking for a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to join the Finance Team here at our London Bridge head office

Charles Tyrwhitt (rhymes with 'spirit' by the way) is a leading British menswear brand and multi-channel retailer. We're growing rapidly both in the UK and internationally; increasing sales year on year and setting and achieving ambitious targets. To sustain this growth and ever improve our outstanding service, we are looking for a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Finance team, based at our stylish London Bridge head office.

The Role

As our Senior Commercial Finance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the accurate monitoring and reporting of sales, margin, and stock across the global business. Within the Commercial Finance team, you will actively manage a Commercial Finance Analyst to deliver accurate and reliable business forecasts. In this high profile, varied role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and their teams across Finance, Business Analytics, Marketing, and Merchandising.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Reporting and Analysis
  • With the Commercial Finance Analyst, produce and distribute a wide range of weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports, across sales, margin, and stock
  • Represent Commercial Finance at various departmental weekly meetings, in order to produce and publish trade summaries to the business
  • Be proactive in monitoring day-to-day trade, and communicating risks and opportunities effectively
  • Undertake ad hoc commercial analysis projects using a suite of tools, to interrogate performance trends and make considered suggestions to drive the business forward
  • Run regular reviews of our marketing campaigns, to assess profitability and viability, and communicate the results to the relevant stakeholders
  • Work with departmental leads to monitor variable marketing costs, producing summaries of performance and explaining variances as part of the business' month-end process

Commercial Forecasting
  • Take a lead role in the preparation and presentation of commercial forecasts (sales, margin, and volumetrics), in line with the company's forecasting cycle
  • Own the timetable and process for receiving the necessary information and submissions from the relevant departments
  • Own and maintain our forecast models and process, and, with the Trading Finance Manager, provide information necessary for long-range planning.

Actively work with the relevant departments in the production and assessment of forecast submissions, providing commercial insight, and challenging where necessary?

People Management
  • Responsible for the management of a Commercial Finance Analyst, including their long-term professional development as well as their day-to-day work

Measures of Success and KPIs:
  • Success will be measured on the timely and efficient execution of reports, as well as evidence of interventions to maximise sales and margin
  • The delivery of accurate forecasts to strict deadlines will be a key KPI of the role

What we are looking for
  • You will have several years' experience of working in a similar role in a commercially focussed, dynamic environment
  • You will have extensive experience of modelling and analysing complex data
  • You will ideally have knowledge of direct and omni-channel business approaches
  • Experience of managing people is highly desirable
  • You will be highly commercial, able to explore, understand, and explain current trading trends, as well as actively seeking opportunities for driving sales and profit
  • A confident communicator, you will be able to summarise complex data and communicate results clearly and succinctly to the wider business
  • You will be effective in collaborating with a wide range of other functions to achieve departmental and business-wide objectives
  • You will demonstrate superb organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise time and workload in order to deliver to hard deadlines
  • You will have strong problem-solving skills, and use your initiative to find creative ways of resolving issues
  • You will enjoy working as an integral part of a closely-connected team, while also being able to own your work
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential
  • You will also be familiar with PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience with Business Analytics and reporting tools (e.g., BOARD, Essbase, Microsoft Access) is desirable
  • A professional accountancy/finance qualification is not a pre-requisite, although a background in commercial finance is expected

Who we are

Once upon a shirt, Nicholas Charles Tyrwhitt Wheeler (whilst studying Geography at Bristol University - we might add) had the notion that he could make a better shirt at better value than anyone else in the world!

He believed that all men; no matter their shape or size, where they may be in the world or indeed their budget; should be able to own a Jermyn Street quality shirt. A proper shirt. A CT shirt.

That was over 3 decades ago and whilst Charles Tyrwhitt (it rhymes with spirit by the way) is still famous for proper shirts, these days we are about so much more than collars and cuffs. Our purpose is to "make it easy for men to dress well". We take care of a chap's entire wardrobe, providing stylish solutions for every occasion. We make sure he gets what he wants, when and how he wants it.

Charles Tyrwhitt's spiritual home and flagship store is located on London's Jermyn Street. Our Global Head Office (Tyrwhitt Towers as it's affectionately known) is in London Bridge. We have two Contact Centres in the UK serving customers worldwide. Our USA Head Office is in Manhattan (naturally) and we have retail and/or online presence across North America, Europe and Australia. Pretty impressive hey?

Tyrwhitteers (our people) are a diverse, passionate and entrepreneurial bunch. We enjoy a fun, engaging and rewarding culture, where everyone is empowered by our 3 BE-liefs which are; "BE the BOSS", "BE the CUSTOMER" and "BE the BEST". Together we celebrate, innovate and strive to achieve greatness in all things. Three cheers for the Tyrwhitteers!

Our future is exciting: expansion, growth, creativity... global domination! In truth; the Tale of Tyrwhitt has only just begun.
