Are you a dynamic Primary Teacher with an adventurous side seeking a new challenge? Look no further!

We are very pleased to be working on behalf of the Falklands Islands Government to appoint a new Primary Teacher to work within one of their settlement schools. This a truly exciting position and will offer the right candidate the experience of a lifetime.

The Falkland Islands is a British Overseas Territory, with a full internal self-government, it covers a land area of 4700 square miles (12,000 square kilometres) and a coastline estimated at 800 miles (1,300 km). The archipelago consists of two main islands: West Falkland and East Falkland, and about 776 small and very small islands, mostly uninhabited. The Falkland Islands are a small, thriving, self-sufficient community with a British way of life, benefiting from excellent local services, beautiful scenery and the glorious absence of traffic jams!

The role
Education on the Falkland Islands is unique. The Island's have a small population, with big ambitions. It will be your job to help turn these ambitions into reality.

As a Primary Settlement Teacher, you will be appointed as sole teacher within one of three settlement schools located in rural Falkland Islands. These schools are attend by primary aged students, who live too far away to attend the larger Primary School on the Island. Class sizes are small, with around 3-10 pupils per school. You will be responsible for delivery of the 2014 English National Curriculum and EYFS Framework, therefore the successful candidate should have extensive knowledge across all areas of primary education.

Your main role will be to help your pupils achieve high levels of progress, in a happy and effective learning environment. You will possess an adventurous, dynamic and enthusiastic teaching style, with the commitment to differentiation and SEN inclusive practice to suit a range of abilities and needs.

The FIG and the island will offer a warm welcome to the successful candidate (and their family!) with a generous relocation package and housing at a heavily discounted rate.

The person
Professionally, you will be a resilient and self-motivated individual, with qualified teacher status and extensive teaching experience. Experience across all areas of primary education, the 2014 English Curriculum and EYFS Statutory Framework are essential for this position.

Interpersonal skills and confidence are key to this role, as you will be working at a distance from the main Primary School site and will be required to liaise with external agencies and parents. Ideally, you will have a bold and infectious personality, and show willing to contribute to extra-curricular activities within the rural location.

Personally, you should have a sense of adventure, resilience and a love for the outdoors due to the remote and rural nature of this position.

The package & benefits
* 2 to 4 Years Fixed Term Contract, with potential for extension by mutual agreement
* Salary of £39,903 per annum - dependent on qualifications and experience
* Reduced Tax rates
* 25% gratuity and a 5% remote allowance based on basic salary earned, paid at the end of the contract
* A relocation package is available for the candidate, their spouse and children
* A flight allowance back to the UK for the candidate and all dependants
* Government housing at a heavily discounted rate, and a starter pack to help you settle in
