Job Purpose for the Paraplanner Role:

Due to the success and growth of the business, we have an exciting opportunity for a Paraplanner to join our practice based in Cardiff.

You will be part of a technical team and be actively involved in the back-office process as a key member, the ideal candidate will want to have autonomy within the role and work closely with a team of experienced Financial Advisors.

Qualifications and experience


·Previous experience of working in a Paraplanner role of an IFA practice


·Level 4 Diploma qualified

·Experience of Back office systems

·Experience of Investment research tools

·AF3, AF7 or AF8 would be advantageous
  • Strong level of technical knowledge in Pensions, Investments, Inheritance Tax including Estate Planning and Trusts and Financial Protection.
  • Experience in the application of the rules of the FCA.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work effectively and efficiently, both individually and within a team to deliver good quality reviews on time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical skills and industry awareness.
  • Ability and willingness to make thorough and well-informed decisions in relation to advised cases that present a high risk to the business.
  • Good organisational, time management skills and effective caseload management.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Professional and ethical.
  • Ability to build and maintain ongoing client relationships.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
General Responsibilities for the Paraplanner Role:
  • Preparing the appropriate files for Financial Planner/client meeting(s), to include full documentation and necessary paperwork to fulfil the client's needs/requirements and our regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Researching products available in the market, selecting those that are most appropriate for the respective client's financial needs, priorities and overall financial position.
  • Use of financial planning software tools for assessment of risk, product suitability and market availability.
  • Collating client details to structure suitability reports for review by Financial Advisers.
  • Case consult to assess risks and opportunities for both new and existing clients.
  • Respond efficiently and effectively to requests from Advisers and Management.
  • Ensuring compliance procedures are adhered to at all times, escalating any breaches or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping.
