Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Blackburn

Assystem are now recruiting for a Finance Assistant to be based at our head office in Blackburn, reporting to the Head of Finance.

Role description:
As the Finance Assistant, your role is to manage sales invoicing, contractor timesheet entry and verification and assisting with general accounts and duties. This requires an individual with a good eye for detail and a measured approach to work with an ability to prioritise tasks and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion. Additionally, you will be expected to support the Finance team with month end routines and ad hoc projects.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:
Sales invoicing
Fixed asset register management
Timesheet entry, verification & rectification of missing/incomplete timesheets
Set up of suppliers and projects on system
Management of travel supplier accounts
Intercompany reconciliations
Management of company lease cars
Weekly exchange rates update
Responsible for close of Sage ledgers close off
General cover and support to Finance team

Role Requirements:
Accounting knowledge essential
Experience of Sage 1000 preferred but not required
Computer literate with excellent IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook),
Ability to use own initiative
Ability to work as part of a small team
Ability to work to deadlines
Sound organisational and communication skills

Your background:
Essential
Data input and reconciliation experience
High attention to detail
Able to work to deadlines

Desirable
Sage 1000 & Competent in Microsoft Excel

Qualifications:
AAT or CIMA preferred plus previous experience of working in an accounts department, is essential.
Security requirements:
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken, applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance.
