The successful candidate will be taking on the role of operations in an up-and-coming local charity based in Stoke-on-Trent that aims to bring an end to human trafficking and modern-day slavery.

The charity is committed to educating and helping people understand the local, national and international situation.

The role is extremely important within the organisation. The charity's mission is very front line and therefore requires a huge amount of work in the background to make this happen. The successful candidate will be part of a team that has a real impact on people as they are trained, as well as on individuals as they are rescued from situations of slavery and trafficking in the area.

Responsibilities and duties:

* Reporting to the Charity Director, the Operations Manager's role involves the day to day running and co-ordination of the charity and each department within the charity.

* Operational and administrative support to the charity and the Charity Director, including line management of other team members and reporting back to the trustees as and when required.

* You will be expected to become a charity trainer and whenever necessary deliver their program of training to both the private and public sectors. On occasion there may also be the requirement to support the charity's Schools Director in resourcing and delivering PHSE lessons into local schools.

Qualifications and Skills required:

* No formal qualifications are required, although a proven track record working in an operational environment is required.

* Experience and capability in the use of social media is crucial as the charity has both a Twitter and Facebook feed that is used to communicate information to their supporters.

* Microsoft Office skills are also essential.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, direct and motivate team members are key to the role.

* Above all, a desire to see people educated and rescued from slavery and human trafficking is a pre-requisite before any application will be considered by the charity.

* The pay for the role is £12.50 per hour

* Hours are flexible and can be agreed with the Charity Director

* Statutory holiday and pension entitlement apply

If this sounds like a role that you simply cannot ignore then please apply without delay!
