If so, we would love to hear from you!Job descriptionWe are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join DVLA's MIBI delivery squad in undertaking the design and implementation of data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and BI systems.

This is a far-reaching role in which your day-to-day duties will directly affect individuals across the whole of the UK.

2019 is going to be an exciting year in DVLA IT Services where we are continuing the major transformation of our legacy estate utilising an in-house developed and supported set of services. Our services will have the reach to every household in the UK, the size and scale would be the envy of any UK ecommerce service provider, so it will be a fabulous opportunity to make a difference for us and for you.

Role Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Contributing to the development of a Cloud based MIBI solution.
• Data engineering using both recognised specialist programming language and technologies.
• Creating, estimating, delivery and testing of product backlog items as part of an Agile Scrum team.
• Proactively identify and remove blockers at the earliest opportunity.

ResponsibilitiesAbout You

To be successful in this role you will need experience working as a data engineer within a cloud based environment. Your experience will include the ability to develop Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions using Azure, along with the ability to develop and support Microsoft Analysis Services (SSAS). You will also demonstrate sufficient dimensional modelling experience and end-to-end knowledge of Data Warehouse architectures, approaches and methodologies.

You'll have strong communication skills both verbally and in writing with the ability to adapt your delivery to suit a wide variety of audiences. You'll have a passion for delivering change initiatives that support the needs of organisations such as the DVLA, with the ability to influence those around you and drive your team towards a shared goal.
