QA Technician Role

The Role

Reporting directly to the QA Manager you will be required to:

* Work with business stakeholders to derive business user requirements at an early stage of the development lifecycle.

* Develop, execute and maintain test plans and cases that verify functionality, data integrity, security, and overall usability.

* Work closely with the software development team and QA peers to help deliver high quality solutions.

* Work collaboratively with the development team to ensure that a good understanding of the end user requirements is obtained, and timescales are adhered to.

* Review automation tests created by developers for completeness against requirements.

* Consider system performance, resilience, and capacity requirements when testing software.

* Log and track defects on the company's defect tracking system.

* Provide accurate status reports to the appropriate lead of the project; Lead Software Developer, or Project Management.

Desirable Skills / Experience:

* ISTQB qualified with 3+ years' experience within a QA / testing role.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with stakeholders at various levels.

* Experience of gathering and documenting acceptance criteria for user stories in a BDD format.

* Strong in test analysis activities such as creating test plans, test scripts and test reports.

* Awareness of test automation best practices.

* Experience of using ALM tools (e.g. JIRA, TFS).

* Experience of using SQL.

* Experience of using REST API testing tools (e.g. Soap UI, Postman).

* Awareness of non-functional testing (e.g. performance, security)

* A keen interest and understanding of software application architectures.

* Experience of working in an agile environment.

* Knowledge or experience of workings of financial markets
