Your new role
Working as part of a small team of engineers you will be key to developing our next generation of automation solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a hardware engineer to work in a mixed signal environment, developing systems for high reliability operation in a hostile environment.

You will work with the GridKey team and other stakeholders to develop early life cycle solutions from defining and agreeing technical specifications to prototyping concepts through to product ionisation and support with travel to domestic and overseas subcontractors, customers and company sites

Key Accountabilities:

Innovate to bring novel solutions to customer challenges
Work in an agile way to bring solutions to market meeting cost and schedule targets
Work early in the product life cycle, taking designs from requirement through to prototype
Work throughout the organisation to productionise and support products
Design new and modify existing products using company specific software to produce designs and implement systems.
Take responsibility for the entire product life cycle, including specification, system architecture, design, validation, production release and customer support for released products
Support change management, testing, fault finding, prototype and production build.
Provide end user support for both new and existing products
Be involved in continuous improvement activities
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications, Experience & Skills Skills - what do you need to be able to do?

Analyse requirements/specifications
Model concepts with alternative options
Embedded electronic systems development
Use EDA tools for schematic, PCB and wiring loom design
Prototype and verify solutions using Dev Kits and self-designed and built development cards
Follow company processes
Analytical and complex problem solving skills
Communicate verbally and using MS Office, TeamCenter, and similar collaboration tools.
Manage part of, or whole projects.
Research emerging technical and regulatory trends
Knowledge - what you need to know

Electronic circuit analyse
Analogue and digital signal processing
Use of appropriate test equipment
Interaction between hardware and software
An appreciation of computer programming, language and algorithms
Appreciation of mechanical design
Engineering mathematics and modelling.
Inspection, measurement and testing.
An appreciation of company, quality and international standards.
Failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).
Safety and design failure modes.
Commercial practices, costing and sales.
Market knowledge particularly competitors, customers and other related industries.Qualifications - You will have a good degree in a relevant subject (Electronic Engineering or equivalent)
