About the Role:

We are currently in need of a Testing and QA Manager to be based in our Royston office on a permanent basis.

This role will be responsible for establishing and stabilising the testing and quality management function within the ERP business solution, taking it from an immature state to full maturity and then ensuring continuous improvement. This includes leading a team of internal and external test management and quality engineering staff and managing the routine test cycles necessary for quality assurance and integrity of the global ERP business applications (including integrated applications and legacy integration).

This role will also provide the strategic direction for applications testing across the JM-IT organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide the strategic roadmap for testing and QA governance across applications delivery and projects within JM-IT.
  • Manage the test management strategy in line with JMIT and UNIFY Programme strategies and policies ensuring adequate governance is in place.
  • Manage the CoE Test Management team and offshore delivery partner c.15 resources
  • Responsible for managing ERP CoE Testing and the configuring of test tools (HP ALM) and Worksoft, acting as a subject matter expert towards the ERP UNIFY Programme and ERP CoE staff.
  • Drive ownership and accountability of quality processes within the ERP application life management processes (cross functional teams).
  • Responsible and accountable for effective and efficient test strategy for both automated and manual testing - for new projects, enhancement packs, fixes, upgrades.
  • Responsible for the management and execution of regression testing.
  • Responsible and accountable for the test infrastructure and tooling (test script maintenance, test automation).
  • Articulating benefits of the Testing and QA team to senior management - including challenging / evaluating the approach to testing as necessary.
  • Responsible for KPI and metrics management and reporting on performance to senior management.
  • Partner with business process teams, ERP CoE functional and technical staff and release management to assure quality is embedded into the overall operation and execution of testing.
  • Develop and foster a culture of continuous service improvement.

Background and Experience Needed:
  • Previous role in a testing capacity across at least 2 full life ERP cycle implementations.
  • A thorough understanding and ability to customise testing tools (HP ALM, HP QTP/UFT, Loadrunner and worksoft).
  • Experience in testing end-to-end solutions, producing test plans, test strategy and testing reports.
  • Experience of testing ERP in a highly regulated industry e.g. chemical, manufacturing, pharmaceutical.
