BCA touches over 3.5m vehicles a year as it provides services along the vehicle life cycle from port to dealerships for new vehicles to refurbishment and logistics for used vehicles and the core re-marketing and auction operations.

Main purpose of job:

As part of the BCA Finance Team this is a varied support role to the production of Management Accounts and Reporting and has arisen due to internal promotion within the Finance Department creating the need for an intermediate support role.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and Processing of Daily Purchase and Sales Invoices
  • Processing Cash Payments and Receipts
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Supporting the Deputy Finance Manager with monthly reconciliations for accruals and prepayments
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Coding and posting journals - accruals and prepayments
  • Assist the Deputy Finance Manager issue resolutions
  • Raising of Ad Hoc invoices
  • Assist with Cash flow Forecasts
  • General Accounting duties

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm

Essential Criteria
  • Numerate
  • Logical Numerate
  • Logical
  • Methodical
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Advanced excel skills required - pivot tables, Vlookup
  • Familiarity with all areas of accounting including sales ledger, bank reconciliations, purchase ledger, nominal ledger and reporting
  • VAT knowledge
  • The ability to work within tight deadlines in a moving and changing environment
  • Flexibility of working around month end reporting timelines
  • Double entry accounting knowledge
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation both internal and external
  • Navision experience preferable but not essential
