Active SEN is recruiting for Outreach tutors to work in comunity or home.

Do you want to have a meaningful, positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people?

Active SEN is currently recruiting successful candidates to work with children who struggle to engage with education. You will be responsible for the educational development and will be part of a team of professionals who work towards the overall aim ensuring education and providing valuable interventions.

You will be required to be patient, calm and empathetic, and hold the ability to engage young people and motivate them to achieve. This role will require you to work on a full-time basis with pupils to build positive, professional relationships and help children overcome barriers to learning.

Nurture, Pastoral, Inclusive and holistic approach to education and exploring the creative aspects of delivering curriculum are rewarding factors in being successful in this role.

The designated tutor will:
  • Promote a relationship based on high expectations (in relation to EHCP), encouraging the pupil to consistently partake in pre-planned lesson activities;
  • Successfully implement teaching and learning strategies based around the pupil's EHCP;
  • Make reasonable adjustments to session delivery where necessary;
  • Have a motivating impact on the pupils under their supervision.
  • Respectful of students needs (ASD SEMH, ADHD, as well as wider complex needs)
  • Have experience in a similar role in PRU, SEN school or inclusion, children's residential homes
  • Desirable background would also be if you are Psychology Graduate looking to put in practice knowledge with the experience
  • Strong in Literacy, Numeracy and genera Science is important to tutor GCSE students
  • Creative and proactive personality will be advantage.
