Job Title: Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker Location: Felpham Hourly rate: £9:00 p/h Week days, £10:00 p/h Week-ends, £13:00 p/h Bank holidays ( treated as ordinary working days for rotas) Reference: DP728 Hours/shifts: Hours to be agreed. Anticipated about 15 hours per week Some mornings definitely, Possibly some evening work Some weekend work. Description Typical duties Domestic - Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away Helping with laundry, washing and drying Loading and unloading the washing machine, Loading and unloading washing line Changing bed linen, Bed making, General cleaning Taking out rubbish, General housework, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping. Tidying Minor household maintenance eg. changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing Helping to keep my equipment clean and in good condition Preparing drinks, snacks and meals. Shopping Help in the garden Correspondence form-filling, assisting with household paperwork Making phone calls on my behalf when I am too unwell to do this Making tea for the employer's guests THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE LIST OF EVERY SINGLE THING YOU MIGHT CONCIEVABLY BE ASKED TO DO, NOR DOES IT MEAN YOU WILL NECESSARILY BE ASKED TO DO EVERYTHING ON THIS LIST Personal Care - washing and bathing/showering - towelling dry/ drying hair Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required To be on call when employer takes bath Assistance with applying cream General hair/skin care Catheter care Using the toilet Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings Getting into bed Assistance with getting out of bed using a hoist Help with dispensing tablets Helping with other aspects of personal care as required. Approach and attitude is more important than experience.
