My fantastic client in Castle Donington are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to manage the function (small team), reporting to the Supply and Logistics Director. You will be responsible for gathering and analysing data, studying sales & inventory records, identifying suppliers, and monitoring factors that affect supply & demand to forecast current and future costs of required products & materials...

Purchasing Manager

You will:

·Manage and control all the Company's external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of materials, treatments and bought in finished parts

·Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers to align with the Company needs

·Identify new suppliers, agree terms and negotiate supply agreement where appropriate

·Develop strong working relationships with associated departments; sales, production, finance and engineering

·Monitor supplier performance to assess their ability to meet the Company's QCD expectations

·Document physical supply chain processes such as workflows

·Design and implement supply chains that support the business strategies adapting to changing market conditions

·Analyse inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns and reduce waste

·Identify team training & development requirements using annual Performance Management process

·Monitor, review and address employee performance and absence levels

Skills & Experience:

·A self-starter, goal orientated and highly persuasive, you will be a natural negotiator who has the stature and presence to drive measurable business improvements

·Proven management experience within a purchasing or supply chain environment

·Ideally be educated to degree level or similar and a member of or working towards MCIPS qualification

·Strong negotiation skills with suppliers including the setting up of long-term agreements

·Be confident in drafting and negotiating Service Level Agreements and major Contract
