Talented and Enthusiastic Teacher of English required - £150 a day Long Term, Workington

Job Role
We would like to recruit an English Teacher on supply to join a successful and well-established department this Autumn term. This position would suit either an NQT, or an experienced teacher looking to further their career, and applications are invited for either a full-time or a part-time position. You will be a motivated and enthusiastic teacher who has a positive and open approach to learning. With responsibility for teaching up to key stage 4 across the school/academy, our successful teacher will be joining a committed team of English Teachers and also be in receipt of incredibly strong and positive leadership of the faculty.

Qualifications/Experience Required
• Qualified to degree level
• Qualified Teacher Status (in a relevant subject)
• Successful experience of teaching English across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5
• Understanding of the use of assessment to inform planning and improve student performance
• Ability to set consistently high expectations for all students through class work, homework and enrichment
• Commitment to enrichment and extra-curricular provision, in the development of students

Duties/Expectations of a Supply Teacher
As a supply teacher you will be expected to plan and teach well-structured lessons of a high standard to the students you are assigned by following designated programmes of study. By monitoring students in accordance with agreed departmental strategies you will impart your knowledge and develop students' understanding through effective use of lesson time. You will be required to set homework where required. You will be expected to contribute to the design and provision of an engaging curriculum along with the other department staff. You will maintain discipline in accordance with school policies and demonstrate good practice in the classes taught with regard to; attendance, appearance, uniform, punctuality, behaviour and homework. by setting high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students.
