Electro-Mechanical Test Design Engineer - Special Purpose Machinery

We're currently recruiting for an experienced and ambitious Electro-Mechanical Test Design Engineer with a passion for seriously 'high-tech' product development. The Test Design Engineer will have excellent test-rig design, automation and test processes skills along with desire to work for a high-technology manufacturing company developing complex, high-value special purpose machinery. This is a rapidly growing company with a bulging order book for their World-class products. The successful Test Design Engineer will join the R&D team developing the next generation of the company's highly specialised test rigs, harnesses for PCBs, electro-mechanical assemblies and machinery, involving detailed design of systems themselves and sub-systems for manufacturing and assembly.

Requirements of Electro-Mechanical Test Design Engineer:

This role is suitable for an experienced Test Development Engineer with a solid background in test engineering or manufacturing with hands-on experience of developing and automating test rigs and/or complex machinery from requirement capture to manufacturing.

As the Electro-Mechanical Test Design Engineer, your skills, experience and qualifications will need to include several of the following:

Degree (BEng or MEng) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or similar/equivalent qualification/experience
Experience of developing ATE / Test solutions for flying-probe, black-box or bed-of-nails testing
Experience of PCB harness development / PCB design, test and programming
Ability to specify and source components for design
Good knowledge of communication protocols i.e. Ethernet or MODBUS
Accurate, thorough, consistent, pro-active, assertive but definitely a team player
Good written and verbal communication skills
