Salary: Competitive

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

Location: Sevenoaks

The Job Role:

Manage the compliance programme for data protection
Advise the Board and the Senior Management Team on all matters related to data protection; ensuring they are regularly updated on changes to law and business matters affecting compliance
Create and maintain appropriate data protection policies and procedures and manage related audits including, but not limited to, data sharing, disclosure and data retention
Monitor changes in data protection legislation and guidance and working with key internal stakeholders (including IT Security) to establish and embed data protection best-practice
Monitor the status and effectiveness of privacy controls across service offerings, ensuring that privacy-related key risk indicators are effectively monitored to prevent a negative impact on business objectives and reputation
Update and re-evaluate the extent to which customer and employee information is collected and shared internally and externally
Develop new and innovative strategies to address privacy and regulatory standards and requirements
Oversee the maintenance of records required to demonstrate data protection compliance
Manage a programme of awareness-raising and training to deliver compliance and to foster a data privacy culture
Operate as the primary contact point for the ICO and lead a data incident response and data breach notification procedure
Lead the responses to any regulatory investigation or request for information
Assist in the review data protection clauses in contract terms in conjunction with Group Legal
Supervise and advise on responses to Data Subject Requests submitted under GDPR
Review, support and advise on data protection impact assessments
Provide leadership, management and direction in relation to all areas of data protection
Lead and motivate the Data Privacy Team in line with the company's values and behaviours
Provide consistent performance management by providing regular feedback, conducting formal reviews, identifying and addressing business-focused training and development needs
Lead on specific work programmes and projects, which relate to data management and protectionAcademic/Professional Skills:

Relevant 7+ years' work experience in privacy and data protection
Preference for Privacy Certified individuals (IAPP, PC.pd, etc.) or holding recognised privacy qualifications (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM, BCS)
Preferably legal qualification or educated to degree level
Practical, working knowledge of ICO Guidelines, DPA rules and PECR rules
