Purchasing Manager: A brand new Purchasing Manager role has come up in the Gloucestershire area for a leading industrial controls manufacturer. As part of the UK Purchasing and Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for the direction, leadership and general management of the regional sourcing team; including the optimisation of annual total spend categories. Purchasing Manager Responsibilities: •Carrying out market analysis •Negotiating and setting up contracts, and ensuring all contracts are embedded internally •Monitoring and reporting suppliers performance •Preparing annual budgets •Applying and further developing Purchasing Guide •Ensuring alignment, optimization and result across the business •Liaising closely with business leaders and other key stakeholders in the UK and EMEA •Providing internal customers with a professional purchasing service •Ensuring purchase orders & invoices are processed in a timely manner to meet business requirements •Decision making scope based on a defined escalation process •Responsibility for the management of assigned suppliers / commodities •Conducting regular supplier visits & meetings •Providing internal customers with a professional purchasing service •Ensuring purchase orders & invoices are processed in a timely manner to meet business requirements •Decision making scope based on a defined escalation process •Responsibility for the management of assigned suppliers / commodities •Conducting regular supplier visits & meeting Purchasing Manager Specification: •Experience working in a technical procurement environment, manufacturing highly preferred •Engineering Degree highly desirable or related subject •Minimum 5 years working experience in a "hands on" procurement role. •Be commercially astute and a strong negotiator, with the confidence and ability to influence and challenge others •Be results orientated and have a focus on understanding and implementing strategies •CIPS certified - desirable •Experience of managing a team is essential Why Should You Apply? •Salary - up to £68,000 + benefits •25 days annual holiday + bank holidays •Car allowance • hour working week with flexible start time •Family Bupa Medical Care •Bonus scheme If this role is not what you're looking for don't worry.
