Key Tasks and responsibilities

THE are looking for a Mandarin speaking Finance Data Assistant to retrieve and carry out quality assurance procedures on financial data from University Annual Reports that will form our finance data product.

Reporting into the Data Operations Manager, you will be responsible for reporting on testing, retrieving and validating data lifted from financial statements.

Key role responsibilities:

The Finance Data Assistant will be responsible for testing and validating data from financial statements on the tooling system. This will include (but is not limited to):
  • Locate & save University Annual reports
  • Lifting data from Financial Statements - Balance Sheet/Income Statement (Excel)
  • Validate lifted data from Financial Statements
  • Testing data against Financial Statements - check and verify balances, presentation & allocation.
  • Update testing tracker and maintain completeness for reporting purposes
  • Identify errors in testing and reporting these in the tracker
  • Assisting team members in understanding financial information
  • Meet testing deadlines

Education and experience requirements

Must be from an accounting or finance background through study or work. Understanding of the structure of Financial Statements, in particular Income statement and Balance Sheet, is essential.

You will be responsible for testing, lifting and validating data for numerous university financial statements and working towards a deadline. Organisation and time management skills are crucial for the role.

Thorough testing requires attention to detail to be able to spot errors or simple mistakes.

You will be proactive and communicate well in order to improve testing results and processes.

The ideal candidate will have a "can do" attitude and a willingness to understand the product and ensure the data inputted is accurate.

Language Skills - Mandarin (Essential)/French (Desirable)

Intermediate excel skills is desirable.
