An experienced RGN Registered Nurse with managerial experience in acute/surgical settings is required to work as Surgical Ward Manager in a leading Oxford hospital.

The hospital undertakes predominantly elective surgery and the ward caters to patients following surgical procedures in the following specialisms; orthopaedics, general surgery, oncology and cardiac.

Details of this Surgical Ward Nurse Manager position are as follows:

* A permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week on flexible day shifts

* A competitive annual salary of £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience

As Ward Manager, you will oversee the day to day clinical and operational management of the Ward, effectively managing staff, budgets and resources. You will promote best practices of care are delivered and will participate in Clinical Governance, Audits and investigations when required.

Candidates for this Ward Nurse Manager position should be:

* Qualified Adult Nurse/RGN with up to date NMC registration

* Have completed a recognised mentorship qualification such as ENB998

* Extensive and current experience within a surgical or medical setting in a private hospital environment

* Significant experience within a senior role, being accustomed to working alongside external stakeholders and developing clinical pathways

* Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer care skills and a good standard of computer literacy

* Strong and effective management skills with a positive and proactive leadership style

* Flexible to shift patterns and able to take part in on-call duties
