Robert Walters are currently working with a rapidly growing business as they embark on their next exciting period of growth. Due to movement of an international function into the head office based in Blackburn this has created a fantastic role for a Group Finance Manager. This role will be pivotal position as they act as the point of contact for operations, senior leadership team, financial reporting and management accounts. Driving change, growth and business partnering across the team this role has a great blend of commercial and technical.

Key responsibilities

Your Responsibilities

Preparation and review of monthly management accounts from trial balance to financial statements
Management and development of a team of part qualified and qualified accountants
Lead the Balance Sheet reconciliation process with the support of the team
Management of all aspects of the Balance Sheet
Review of Lead Schedules and ensure these are prepared and reviewed on a timely basis
Understanding actual performance to budget and prior year and articulate understanding of underlying business performance to stakeholders
Lead management accountants to drive the month end process and ensure strict deadlines are achieved to support group reporting requirements
Develop and ensure team focus of ensuring accuracy of site by site p&ls
Support the commercial finance team with information and performance analysis to drive decision making
Support year end statutory audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing all necessary documentation and evidence.
Preparation of statutory accounts and monthly group pack submissions
Lead on ongoing development of finance systems and processes
Work closely with and develop a strong relationship with the Transactional manager to ensure a strong link between the accounts and transactional team

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent qualification. A strong technical accounting background with good working knowledge of IFRS or FRS101. The ability to manage senior stakeholders and work to strict deadlines. Ideally a good working knowledge of SAP would be beneficial but not essential.
