A Finance Manager is required for a Leeds business with whom we have a long-standing relationship.

We are partnering with Armstrong Priestley, who specialise in the installation and maintenance of fire protection systems. Armstrong Priestley are independently owned and have been in operation for over 40 years now. The business has recently gone through a management buyout and is looking to continue their growth. Turnover is currently at c£14m with a view to growing this to £16m in the next year or two.

As the Finance Manager, your main aim is to provide support to the Finance Director, while also motivating and guiding a small finance team. You might be a progressive trainee accountant, looking for the next step of your career. Alternatively, you might be a more experience qualified or qualified by experience candidate who is looking for their next challenge, possibly even to become an FD designate in the future.

Key duties include;

Management accounts
Budgets and forecasts
Producing MI and analysis
Accruals and pre-payments
VAT returns
Calculating work in progress
Project costing
Support year-end audits
Manage and motivate a small finance team

The duties of the role will be built around your skills and experience, this will be reflected in the salary offered. The Finance Director needs assistance to ease her workload, support will be provided but you will need to be self-sufficient and motivated to manage your day.

As your skills grow, trust develops and priorities line up, there is scope to take on more work from the Finance Director, leaving more time to drive the business forward in their MD capacity. You must be keen to work in an SME environment where there are multiple priorities and deadlines.

Armstrong Priestley have shown year on year growth and are keen to continue this development. The business has a low staff turnover, operates from purpose build headquarters and you would become a key member of the team and business.
