We are looking for an accounts assistant to join the team for 12 - 18 months to support our existing finance team of four delivering high quality work within a fast paced and deadline driven environment.

The role will focus on credit control activities and supporting a finance team on wide range of projects, and supporting other day to day activities as required

- Salary range £17,000 to £23,000, dependent on experience

Position Summary:

Support the finance department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of ledger transactions, undertaking of accounting tasks and ad hoc projects as required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Accounts receivable credit control

- Support Sales and purchase ledger maintenance and review

- Support processing sales invoices/ purchase invoices as required

- Check, calculate and allocate customer contracts, invoices and receipts

- Handle financial paperwork and filing

- Assist the management accountant in preparation of prepayments and AP accruals

- Assist the finance team in the month-end and year-end process to meet group reporting and delivery requirements

- Assist with internal and external audits

- Assist in the review, improvement and implementation of internal controls and processes

- Assist in the improvement and streamlining of finance activities for the new combined structure

- Provide timely and accurate financial information to the finance director including adhoc financial analysis as required

- Support Ad-hoc projects

Candidate Experience and Qualification:

Candidates MUST have a minimum 2 years' experience of working in a finance team along with some experience and knowledge of accounting terminology.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to deliver high quality work within strict reporting deadlines.

- Excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy

- Have a passion for continuous improvement

- Innovative and proactive approach to problem solving, able to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented

- Technical accounting ability

- Experience in ledger processing

- Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions

- Team worker and ability to work under own initiative

- Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive

- Results oriented, focused on achieving measurable benefits for the company

- Good verbal and written communication

- Competent excel skills
