Our Client is a rapidly Growing start up - commenced trading in 2016 and is now in excess of 100 staff in Oxford - Equity Backed highly entrepreneurial , Scientific company. Expansion is rapid and they are looking to expand into Asia and HK.

The Finance Manager will report into the Head of Finance and the CFO, this is a great opportunity for a Qualified ambitious dynamic individual - with an interest in Science, to excel and grow quickly into an FC with international reach. The Finance Manager will ideally have a prior background in audti/practice.

Role overview

Our Client is looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant/ Finance Manager to get involved in all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, financial risk management, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition - supported by a Finance assistant who undertakes the transactional work
  • Month-end and year-end close process
  • Production of timely monthly consolidated financial statements
  • Quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Managing and complying with local regulatory reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Preparation of regulatory reporting and internal/external audit processes
  • Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

Required qualifications and experience
  • ACA/ACCA qualified
  • 4-5 years of post-qualification experience having initially trained in practice (experience at a big 4 is a plus) followed by experience in industry (preferably early stage start-up/fast-growth businesses in software, life sciences technology or telecom industries)

Desired qualifications and experience
  • Experience with multi-national group company structures
  • Knowledge of Xero accounting software
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
