This is an exciting opportunity for a tenacious Management Accountant to further develop their career within the financial management team in Daisy's Corporate Services division based in Nelson

You will be joining an industry leading business with scope for long-term career progression. This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant seeking a hands on role and real ownership of key areas of the business for both reporting and forecasting.

  • Ownership of the DCS Daisy Communications telco monthly management accounts and balance sheet.
  • Production of the monthy accounts including variance and trend analysis to prior year, budget and forecast.
  • Ownership of fixed assets register for the division. Ensuring costs pertaining to capital projects are accurately identified, capitalised and depreciated in accordance with relevant accounting policies.
  • Production of balance sheet reconcilations for areas of PL ownership.
  • Assisting with intercompany divisional accounts - working with the finance managers to ensure all transactions are correctly accounted for.
  • Working with the Head of Financial Improvement and management accounts team to identify and explain trends to improve the understanding of actuals and improve forecasting. In particular the teams business analyst to improve headcount forecasting.
  • Working with the Finance Business Partnering team to continually improve cost centre reporting.
  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-finance manager.
  • Assist in the production of divisional budgets and forecasts.
  • Working with the divisional financial controller on ad-hoc projects.
  • Develop and document robust internal control environment.
  • Other ad hoc tasks.
  • Be vigilant for possible fraudulent activity and if necessary raise a security incident report using the template accessible via the corporate Intranet.
  • Periodically review Daisy Security Policies - centrally hosted on the Intranet - to ensure full compliance with current legal, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Carry out any 'ad hoc' assignments as and when required.
  • To be compliant with health and safety company policy and legislation.
  • Part Qualified (CIMA/ACCA).
  • Experience working in a Management Accountant role is required.
  • Experience working as part of a large organisation.
  • Previous experience dealing with high volume transactions.
  • An enquiring mind with excellent analytical, numerical and presentation skills (visually and orally).
  • The ability to follow up lines of enquiry and to report back on findings in a concise manner.
  • Adept at communicating and presenting to management across the division.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is essential (Vlookups, SUMIFs,Pivot tables, sliders etc).
  • Proven ability to prioritise and proactively manage your own workload to strict deadlines.
  • Driven and confident individual with a 'can-do' attitude wanting to develop their career in Management Accounting.
  • Knowledge of Sage useful but not essential.
  • Study Support will be provided for ACCA/CIMA qualifiaction.
