Currently seeking a Pre School Room Leader for a new Nursery setting.

The role: The role of the Room Leader is to work as part of the management team to provide professional leadership and management to all practitioners and to ensure that all children receive the highest standards of care and education.

Setting size- 84 in total

Setting Ofsted- Newly opened

Salary range: £21,000-£23,000

Hours daily and weekly / shifts- 40 hours, Monday to Friday. Either a 7:15-4:15, 8:00-5:00 or 9:00-6:00 depending on the shifts.

All year round Nursery.

Age group based- 3-5 years

Room size- 36 children

Responsible to: Manager and Deputy Manager

Your duties will include:
  • Record keeping and reports
  • Sustainability
  • Requirements and legislation
  • Liaison with staff, parents, suppliers and outside agencies

Qualifications, experience and personal qualities required:
  • NVQ level 3 or higher
  • Excellent understanding of the EYFS curriculum and requirements
  • Experience within the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Develop good personal relationship within the team
  • An understanding of children's development and their needs
  • Establish and develop effective relationships with parents and the community
  • A positive attitude to use of authority and maintaining discipline
  • Able to communicate effectively with adults and children
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to demonstrate reliability and initiative, show resilience and the ability to work under pressure
  • An enthusiastic approach to work
  • Flexibility to cope with the changing needs of the nursery.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, developing positive relationships with parents, children, colleagues and outside agencies.
  • Demonstrate excellent IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • An ability to use own initiative and work within a team
  • Able to lead a team
  • Flexible and receptive to change
  • Willing to acquire new skills and undertake further training when necessary
  • Pre school experience
