Job Description

Cedars Care Group is a family run company with sixteen years of experience in nursing, dementia & elderly care and seven boutique homes across the UK. We are looking for a Registered Manager to manage and support our dementia specialist residential care home in East Sussex.

This is a full-time position based on 40 hours per week, subject to the achievement of goals and objectives and the covering of vacant shifts. The role of Manager includes 12 hours per week on the floor as part of the rota. Although the core hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, some flexibility is required to cover weekends on a rota basis.

Experience of working within a Dementia Care Home environment is essential.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • To participate in all aspects of the Home's management and leadership.
  • To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Home and for the allocation and supervision of the work of the Home.
  • To manage and co-ordinate professional, clinical, administrative and financial arrangements, training and care planning within the Home.
  • Develop effective working relationships with the Registered Provider, Operations Manager and Head Office.
  • To manage the Home in accordance with the statutory rules and regulations for the Care Home sector.
  • To promote and provide skilled care for all service users and be responsible for the planning and recording the immediate and long-term needs of our Service Users.
  • To adhere to all statutory requirements and good practices as laid by all authorities involved including CQC, Safeguarding and Social Services.
  • To lead the Care Manager, senior and junior members of staff in their daily work.
  • To assume overall responsibility for the occupancy level and maintain an acceptable occupancy rate (based on quarterly review) by actively promoting the home.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Completed or working towards Level 5 NVQ in Management Health and Social Care.
  • Experience working within a Dementia Care Home environment is essential.
