We're looking for a SHEQ Lead to join our Lancashire based client on a permanent basis. Our client is a leading nationwide business providing engineered modular and proprietary temporary works equipment for excavation shoring, formwork, falsework, propping, jacking, temporary bridging, road barriers and a wide range of other systems. Our client is well established with over 50 years' experience in multiple construction sectors.

This role will be assisting the operational and functional management to fulfil their SHEQ responsibilities by providing advice and guidance.

Responsibilities

* Provide advice to operational and functional management on the prevention of accidents, ill health, environmental incidents and the practical implementation of the company's SHEQ policies.

* Provide advice in the development of safe operational risk assessments and procedures so that relevant hazards are identified, evaluated, and operational risk minimised.

* Work with managers on the development and implementation of regional/functional level strategies for improvement.

* Manage and maintain systems for the Company's Health Surveillance, Drugs & Alcohol testing, and training.

* Undertake active monitoring of company operations ensuring compliance with company Integrated Management System (IMS)

* Investigate accidents and incidents to produce detailed factual reports and recommendations for improvement including training requirements.

* Encourage energy conservation throughout the company to achieve annual reductions.

Skills and experience

* NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ Level 5 in OHAS or equivalent

* GradUISH / CMIOSH

* AIEMA or equivalent

* In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 37001 and ISO 45001 & integrated management systems

* Experienced internal auditor (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001)

* Strong technical knowledge across relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and compliance

* Good report writing and presentation skills

* Driving license
