3 Hare Court is a leading Civil and Commercial set. Chambers currently seek a Marketing and Events Manager who will provide support to chambers by assisting the Clerks and Barristers with marketing Chambers and themselves to existing and potential clients. Moreover, the job will cover exploring and promoting new channels of work.

Hours of work: 9:00am to 5:30pm

Line Manager: Senior Clerk

Strategy: To work within the strategy set by chambers, with formal input from the Senior Clerk, Joint Heads of Chambers and the Business Development Committee.

Responsibilities:

Marketing Intelligence-

* Maintain an understanding of the marketplace and marketing intelligence;

* Investigate gaps in the marketplace and make recommendations;

* Investigate web-enabled channels to market;

* Review approaches to seminars, legal directories, press opportunities, in-house publications and consider recommendations for change.

Communications-

* Identify opportunities for Clerks and Barristers to market themselves;

* Keep abreast of Barristers' aspirations, experience and abilities generally and in practice reviews;

* Provide support to Clerks and Barristers in marketing themselves by organising:

1. Seminars and talks

2. Receptions

3. In-House publications for Chambers and Chambers' practice groups;

4. Updates to the website (to include updates to news items and barrister profiles) and social media channels;

5. The annual process of submitting entries to Chambers' directories entries - to include encouraging members to buy into this;

6. Regular updates to our Twitter & LinkedIn Profiles

7. Other external publication opportunities

* Ensure all publications portray an appropriate image of Chambers consistent with Chambers' reputation and brand;

* Build strong relationships with appropriate contacts in the press, public relations agencies, legal directories.

Additional Duties:

* Provide some reception duties.

* During peak periods, assisting the clerking team with visitors to chambers, answering internal and external phone calls.

* Ensuring reception and our meeting rooms are set up to the required standard ready for clients and meetings.

Qualifications and Expertise:

* Ideally some post qualification experience in marketing.

* Ideally degree level educated.

* Ideally a Marketing qualification.

* Sound knowledge of the legal services market.

* Experience in building strong relationships with the press, clients and colleagues.

Personal Characteristics:

* Demonstrate experience of bringing about improvements and change.

* Demonstrate success in business development.

* Demonstrate project management skills.

* Hands on experience of new media marketing and high level of IT literacy.

Pension: 3% contribution from chambers
