Our client is an established financial software company based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Due to continued growth, they are currently recruiting a 2nd Line Support Specialist, who will be responsible for providing support across the business, ensuring the upkeep of IT infrastructure, applications and equipment.

The role will have day to day responsibility for a number of areas across the business and requires excellent problem solving abilities. The 2nd Line Support Specialist will need to demonstrate a high level of customer service, managing priorities in a fast paced environment as well as experience with working across a broad range of technologies.

2nd Line Support Specialist - Key Responsibilities:

- Provide remote support to users across all office locations, including remote user support

- End user equipment support e.g. Laptops, Desktops, Printers, Peripherals

- Network support e.g. LAN, WLAN, Cabling

- Server support, virtualised and physical

- Maintenance of the telephony systems incl. phone system configuration, desk and softphone support

- Management of incidents in our client's ticketing system

- Supporting company wide services e.g. Office 365, Active Directory, desktop/laptop imaging solution

- Maintenance of patch management and security solutions e.g. WSUS, Kaspersky

- Purchasing and procurement of hardware and software

- Creation and maintenance of documentation e.g. process, configuration, user guides

- Adoption and implementation of best practices

- Supporting the business compliance requirements e.g. ISO 27001

- Electrical equipment testing e.g. PAT Testing

- Other tasks set for you by the Infrastructure Manager

2nd Line Support Specialist - Requirements:


- Willingness to learn and develop skill set

- Works well within a team environment

- Customer focused with good communicate skills, both verbal and written

- Is a logical thinker with good analytical skills

- Able to demonstrate strong problem solving skills

- Willingness to get to the root of the problem

- Proactive can do and can think approach to the job

- Delivery focused attitude to meet demanding deadlines


* Minimum 2 years' experience gained within a technical support role

* Experience in the following technologies:

* Windows Client OS - up to Windows 10

* Client applications incl. Microsoft Office


- Support of Macs

- Knowledge of administraing Office 365

- Knowledge of database software e.g. SQL Server

- Windows Server - up to 2016

- You will hold or working towards a relevant IT qualification and a Microsoft Certification

2nd Line Support Specialist is offering £22,000 - £28,000 basic salary plus benefits and career progression for the successful candidate.
