Job Profile

As the successful Production Planner, you will join the company to contribute towards achieving the goal of being the global first choice production supplier. Planning all production work, both internally and subcontractors achieving company OTD targets.

The main purpose of this position is to plan the orders from internal sales request to dispatch, ensuring total on-time delivery and unrivalled quality to our customers. The primary responsibilities of this role include capacity planning, inter-departmental liaison, sub-con management, inventory management and performance reporting. The successful candidate will have a track record of going above and beyond to ensure targets are met and will be willing to take ownership of tasks included, but not limited to, the following duties.


* Planning of customer orders through the whole process chain

* Planning workload through departments ensuring maximum utilisation

* Maximise efficiency of machine running and management

* Be part of continuous improvement teams to carry out various site lean projects

* Ensure customer order status is being communicated back through to internal sales

* Improve processes to allow next day turnaround of customer orders from point of order to despatch

* Assist team in achieving department and company KPI's

* Be the official Plastics Production representative to the wider business and assume all aspects of the Production Manager role in the absence of the Production Manager

* Manage all subcontracted activities measuring supplier %RFT and %OTD

* Communicate workload forecast to the Quality department on a daily basis, giving them an up-to-date visual on all incoming orders and their respective requirements

* Maintain an overview of finishing consumables and ensure finishing team leader is aware of required stock for incoming orders

* Assist finishing team leader with procurement of non-stock items, ensuring these are procured by companies featured on the approved suppliers list

Skills & Experience:

* Engineering / Production background (ideally with either Oil & Gas, Medical or Aerospace)

* Knowledge of manufacturing processes

* Planning Scheduling

* Procurement experience (ideal but not essential)

* ERP system experience

Hours of Work:

* 8am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday

* 8am to 3pm, Friday
