Are you an HLTA looking for a long term post in September?

Empowering Learning are working with an exceptional and caring secondary school based in Merton who are looking for a candidate who will be totally aligned to their values of excellence, positivity and respect.

For this role you will be a motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching assistant able to support within the English department. You must be able to compliment teacher's delivery of the English curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, students and academy policies and strategies.

Responsibilities include:

* Working collaboratively within the English department, supporting and assisting teaching staff in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.
* To provide support to students, teachers and the academy in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes
* To encourage students to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of students in all aspects of academy life.
* To supervise whole classes during the short term absence of teachers.

The successful candidate will:

* Have good communication skills
* Hold GCSEs in Maths, English and Science
* Have experience/interest in English language and literature
* Be able to build constructive relationships
* Have relevant experience of working with young people in a school setting.
