Reed Accountancy in Basingstoke are working closely with a client based in Alton who are looking for a Credit Controller to join their team for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

You will be responsible for all aspects of Credit Control and Sales Ledger and you will be required to carry out the following duties:

Credit Control

• Proactive in chasing customers for payment via phone, letter and email.

• Resolve any client issues/queries to ensure the timely collection of all outstanding payments

• Liaising with the sales team regarding any queries.

Sales Ledger

• Managing all aspects of multicurrency cash receipts

• Matching remittances to payment received on bank statement or cheque

• Ensuring all payments received are allocated to the appropriate invoices

• Posting invoices / credit notes on to system

• Dealing with customer credit notes

• Preparing aged debtors report (month end close routine)

• Credit card payments

The right candidate will have the following:

• A proven track record of working in a fast paced finance / accounts role

• Experience using accounting software

• Excellent reconciliation skills and a proven record in reducing outstanding balances

• Good communication skills and able to adapt to change

• Accurate and methodical thinking as well as being highly organised

• Excellent communication skills at all levels

• All round experience of all aspects of accounting would be useful

The working hours for this role will be 9:00am - 17:30pm Monday to Friday with a half an hour lunch break.
