Established in 1962, Hancocks is the leading UK sweets and chocolates wholesaler to independent businesses. Through our 20 Cash & Carries around the UK, we sell a huge confectionery range including branded chocolate and sweets and wholesale pick and mix sweets.

Now part of the IB Group incorporating Bobby's Foods, Bonds of London, HubPix and Hancocks.

We are currently looking to recruit a Cash & Carry Manager to oversee the running of our Cash & Carry in Liverpool (L30 1NY).

The Role of a Cash & Carry Manager

The role will require you to support the General Manager in all aspects of the business, and to assist in running the Cash and Carry efficiently in order to meet targets, whilst providing the best customer care and service.

Key Focus:
  • Manage the day to day running of the Cash and Carry, ensuring it is safe, well presented, clean and organised at all time
  • To analyse customer needs and make recommendations based on sound business knowledge and commercial acumen
  • To deal with people at all levels and in all situations
  • To be responsible for stock management including display, stock levels and stock rotation
  • To assist in developing, promoting and leading continuous improvement activities
  • To maintain Health and Safety standards within the Cash and Carry, promoting a safe working environment for staff and customers
  • To support the General Manager in all aspects of the business - staff, stock and customers
  • To engage with any new or on-going project initiatives as required
  • To have the ability to interpret and apply company policies
  • To develop and maintain effective communication links with the General Manager and the staff to ensure all of the above

To be successful in our business you will need:
  • An excellent command of the English language
  • Experience in a cash and carry industry preferred but not essential
  • The ability to manage demanding situations and to meet deadlines
  • The ability to work independently on own initiative with minimal supervision
  • The ability to work as part of a team and respond flexibly to change
  • To understand the need to maintain confidentiality, and to do so
  • To be self-motivated, outgoing, energetic and confident, as well as be a team player
  • To possess strong communication skills, to be approachable
  • To provide professional leadership, encompassing all aspects of people management and development
  • To be numerate and literate
  • To be happy, personable and professional in all situations
