Your new role

As a field-based Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer you work on Sainsburys' Stores in and around the Leicester / Nottingham area on a permanent basis. The general purpose of the role will require you to carry out planned and reactive M&E maintenance tasks safely and to an agreed standard within a defined portfolio of stores to a required Service Level. You will also provide first line response to all emergencies during normal working hours and out of hours when on call.

This is a pivotal role in our Engineering division where you will play a key part and in our ongoing growth and success.

What you'll be responsible for
  • Assisting with M&E surveys and technical reports as necessary and cascading all key data to relevant personnel throughout field operations
  • Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety requirements and always adhere to best working practices
  • Liaise and advise Managing Engineers on operational issues within local stores
  • Working proactively to manage task volumes in conjunction with the Service Solutions team

To be successful in this role you will have
  • Ideally you will have a 17th Edition and possess strong HVAC knowledge
  • F Gas qualification would be an advantage.
  • You must have relevant experience ideally gained in a retail environment and a recognised apprenticeship in M&E services maintenance.
  • Commercial Mechanical experience
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Plumbing experience
  • Team work as well as working on your own initiative is essential.

This will involve working 45hrs per week and working on call for 1 in 4 weeks and one Saturday in four.
