As our IT Change and Automation Lead you will be accountable for leading all facets of lean practice implementation and continuous service improvement across the IT Operations function.

The role-holder is responsible for managing and executing IT Change and Automation programmes within the time, budget and scope for high value or complex project deliveries. You will be responsible for devising a process automation strategy and introducing operational process automation and robotics into the IT Operations space, driving continuous service improvements and cost reductions.

Responsibilities as our IT Change and Automation Lead include:

- Engage with stakeholders for multiple systems, define automation solutions for complex processes

- Work with the IT Operations teams to identify Process improvement and automation opportunities

- Build robotics functions across the CTO function

- Devise process controls and resource planning practices for adoption across the It Operational teams.

- Investigate, source and select appropriate automation solutions for deployment within the business

- Working with Architects, design and build framework components and governance structures

- Maintain automation frameworks/libraries, tools interfaces

- Analyse execution results, produce reports on automated executions

- Build effective agile team, processes and governance that enable high throughput

- Creating and maintaining high-quality Runbook documentation

- Proactively engage with sponsors and stakeholders to define and scope, manage allocated projects efficiently and effectively

- Define, coordinate and execute strategies which secure commitment from cross functional groups and external providers

- Effectively manage the expectations of senior stakeholders and cross functional teams

- Establish milestones, activities and plans, and manage performance against them

- Manage time, budget and scope movement in the face of uncertainty, change and aggressive deadlines

- Produce and manage budget and resource plans

- Manage, document and escalate cost, risk and scope issues with the Chief Technology Officer

- Build 3 and deliver on the year technology and process roadmap in conjunction with the overall CTO strategy

- Work with external vendors and outsourced providers

- Provide effective status updates to key stakeholders

- Define the roadmap and prioritise the workload for the service Now development team

Skills and Experience required of our IT Change and Automation Lead:


- Lean six sigma certified

- Demonstrable experience in similar roles

- Experience with Cloud technologies and the complexities of migrating to such

- Ability to develop solutions (along with alternatives) to automate business processes using RPA platforms and other available products/utilities

- Strength in requirement gathering and analysis (ability to work with a structured and methodical approach, combined with an enquiring mind)

- Ability to work with cross-functional teams of experts

- Programme management certified

- Significant experience in robotics automation


- Proven problem-solving, decision-making and financial skills

- Effective business-development skills, including proposal development and preparation

- Technical experience in an IT programming development environment, ideally in RPA tools or test automation tools (UI Path/ AA/ Blue Prism/OpenSpan)

- Exposure to managing projects using an Agile methodology
