Sewell Wallis are working with a well-known, interesting industry in Sheffield, currently looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to both support the Financial Accountant and manage the transactional team.

The role;

- To promote the company's core values through personal behaviour
- Ensure effective communication between the Finance Department and Operations
- Represent the Company professionally to all business partners.
- Manage the transactional team on a daily basis, providing leadership, setting objectives and managing performance through regular meetings
- Reconciliation of certain entity balance sheets
- Ensure all ledgers and other books of account are properly kept in particular the purchase ledger, sales ledger and cashbook
- Perform and/or review monthly reconciliations including statement reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns (including partial exemption) and completion of the annual adjustment calculation
- Assist with the preparation half year accounts and annual statutory accounts (IFRS, UK GAAP)
- Completion of national statistic returns
- Managing the GRNI balance and following up on any queries.
- Carry out other ad hoc duties as requested by the Financial Accountant / Head of Finance from time to time
