Every year they inspire thousands of students to develop skills that will help them to reach their full potential by offering a wide range of courses across; further education, adult education, higher education, professional and technical qualifications, and apprenticeships.

Our client now has an exciting opportunity for you to join them on a temporary to potentially permanent basis as a full-time Programme Tutor in Computing. The permanent salary will be £22,951 - £29,854 and the hourly pay will be equivalent to this.

The Job

The Digital and Creative Industries department is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and extremely versatile programme tutor in Digital Technologies. The Candidate should be qualified to at least Degree level or similar. Industrial experience in the Digital Technologies sector is a distinct advantage. Applicants should also possess a level 4 teaching qualification.

It is essential that the candidates possess a comprehensive skills set and can be flexible in their teaching, inspiring students to achieve success. The candidate will have a very broad knowledge of computer science subjects and skills in computer games development. Candidates should also be equipped to teach programming languages i.e. C++, Python, C#. The successful candidate must be able to teach across a range of courses at levels 1, 2 and 3.

Experience of assessment and quality assurance practises would be desirable.

Role responsibilities

* To act as a Programme Tutor for a caseload of full-time and/or part-time students.
* To assure the quality of the student learning experience by effective delivery of formal scheduled teaching and tutorials paying due regard to student progression towards successful completion.
* To embrace new learning technologies/ILT and implement the same within own teaching.
* To deliver high quality teaching on a range of courses within Digital Technologies.
* Plan and use a range of innovative and creative teaching and learning techniques, including appropriate use of new and emerging technologies, ensuring they are inclusive, promote equality and diversity, motivate students and encourage independence and autonomy.
* Ensure schemes of work, lesson plans and progress tracking documents meet robust quality assurance procedures.

The person & qualifications

* Hold a relevant Computing profession related degree or equivalent qualification.
* Hold a recognised teaching qualification
* Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of the relevant curriculum, qualification and quality frameworks
* A DBS Certificate that is on the update service, or be willing to apply for one
