SYSTEM ANALYST (IDAM) - BRISTOL - £35,000 - £45,000

International Defence and technology organisation is looking to recruit a System Analyst to join it's growing and functional team on some exciting projects.

Security Clearance: Must possess or be able to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance or higher

Minimum Qualification/Education Level:
  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or related discipline, or relevant industry experience
  • Broad knowledge and understanding about many aspects of enterprise-scale information technology deployments.
  • Knowledge of ForgeRock and Jira technologies
  • Sterling OMS
  • AWS
  • Technical experience supporting IT projects within MoD preferred.
  • Active UK SC clearance (or higher) or able to obtain a UK SC clearance within 3 months.

Person Specification:
  • Business analyst skillset
  • Able to read java logic (not write it) to work with developers to develop solutions
  • SQL (ideally Oracle) query writing skills to interrogate databases
  • Experience working and maintaining ForgeRock solutions
  • Experience working and maintaining Jira solutions
  • Ability to proactively manage requirements through the life-cycle
  • Experience as a Systems/Technical Analyst who has been directly involved with the design and implementation of business systems
  • 2nd + 3rd level support for products and systems you are exposed to
  • A technical understanding of design and implementation of other platforms such as Websites and Apps
  • Attention to detail and the ability to document IT systems in a diagrammatic form
  • Outstanding verbal skills in order to interview, hold workshops etc. to elicit the appropriate information required to create the blueprints;
  • Working understand of Linux based operating systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - expect to liaise closely with others and write documentation.
  • Understanding of Logistics and supply chain management working with Enterprise resource planning applications
  • Flexible to take on additional infrastructure and technical responsibilities as deem necessary.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL framework and Experience of working in an agile environment and familiar with agile ceremonies
  • Methodical thinking and logical problem solver for resolving complex problems.
  • Self-starter / self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Fast learner and detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy.
  • Organized and able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Effectively manages time to meet deadlines amidst periodic interruptions.
  • Training Junior Systems analyst to provide coverage and insight across the team.

Job Purpose: (Summarise why the job exists and how it contributes to the organisation)
  • To understand our IS solution and provide key insights to the business about system performance, and visibility into end-to-end business transactions. Shaping trends, and helping fold in new requirements from the business into the Development team seeing them through to implementation and support.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: (General summary of the major activities and responsibilities.
  • Providing reports to the business using a combination of Oracle database and Cognos reporting framework.
  • Operating as part of our third line support team to triage issues and either resolve or work with Developers on a path to resolution
  • Available to respond and provide technical support after-hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Liaising extensively with external or internal customers.
  • Mapping and documenting interfaces between legacy and new systems.
  • Translating client requirements into highly specified project briefs.
  • Identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability.
  • Presenting to stakeholders regarding performance and processes.
  • Working closely with colleagues, developers, testers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
  • Drawing up, supervising and documenting testing schedules for complete systems
  • Supporting users on change control and system updates
  • Providing training and user manuals for the current solution
